you have a mission. it is the ring’s will. it must happen. it will happen.
you do not fear harm, death, killing or the unknown. not even the void.
you fear the ring. you fear the gods that carved you for them to instill.

The idea was to make a solo-arena/wave-based FPS with a Gougi-like (Fighting EX Layer) or Gem-like (Street Fighter X Tekken) system: you unlock powers during the action by fulfilling objectives.

Fun! I enjoyed my first playthrough enough that I played several more times in a row.  Once I knew what the first few upgrades were, I started changing my play-style specifically to get them faster, e.g. rounding up enemies to kill them all at once.  I'm not sure if it's better to know the challenges ahead of time or discover them as I go.

I ask myself the same question. For the jam, it was easier to not display them and it reduced the information's frontload, but I don't know.

I think the discovery of new rules is cool, especially if there were more of them.
